HOW COULD ANYONE
HOW COULD ANYONE EVER TELL YOU
YOU WERE ANYTHING LESS THAN BEAUTIFUL?
HOW COULD ANYONE EVER TELL YOU
YOU WERE LESS THAN WHOLE?
HOW COULD ANYONE FAIL TO NOTICE
THAT YOUR LOVING IS A MIRACLE?
HOW DEEPLY YOU’RE CONNECTED TO MY SOUL.
YOU WERE ANYTHING LESS THAN BEAUTIFUL?
HOW COULD ANYONE EVER TELL YOU
YOU WERE LESS THAN WHOLE?
HOW COULD ANYONE FAIL TO NOTICE
THAT YOUR LOVING IS A MIRACLE?
HOW DEEPLY YOU’RE CONNECTED TO MY SOUL.

I found this tonight and thought that it was appropriate for how I am feeling. Last week someone said that my baby was ugly. Now this man has no idea who I am, and I have never met him. The comment was made to someone in passing and I am sure that he was just making small talk. I was not there so I do not know exactly what happened only what was told to me by my sister .I am glad that this came up in our conversation later that day, because it gave me a chance to contemplate what people truley think and feel about others who are not exatly like them. Now in his defense perhaps this man has never been exposed to the incredible world of people with special needs, perhaps he hasn't experienced the joy that is found by just being in the same room as one of these special people. Perhaps he is just a jerk. In a sense I am grateful for this man's honest opinion( I am trying to find the positive in things these days). I know that I will have to grow a thick skin because lets face it some people don't hold back. I am sure that in the years to come I will be hurt by many people who either think that they are helping, or by those that have diarrhea of the mouth and feel that their opinion must be heard. At the end of the day though I know that Brunton is perfect in every way, and even though others will have their own opinion its really only mine that matters!! (just ask my husband I tell him that all the time!) I hope that someday this man is touched by someone with special needs that he can experience the joy that they bring to this world and those who surround them.So today's DS fact is...
DOWN SYNDROME CHILDREN ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
