When it rains it pours..Literally.

Well I don't know if I am cursed or what, but I think that I am destined to live in a house that leaks. Growing up I remember frequently cleaning up water that had some how found its way into our home. I thought that once I grew up and bought my own house I would escape this misery, but I was wrong. The first couple years that T and I have lived in our little house the pipes in the basement froze and flooded the basement carpet. We finally found the problem (there was no insulation in the add on causing the cold air to seep in thus freezing the pipes) and quickly insulated the add on. The next year for some reason the pipes in the basement started to leak again flooding the carpet. We then had to rip out the ceiling so that the pipes could be fixed. By this time I felt like I had received my fair share of water problems. But on Sunday I walked into the kitchen and heard the dreaded sound of water running. Looking around I found the culprit it was the ceiling in the corner of the kitchen and water was pouring down. I yelled at T to come and see what was going on, and of course being a man he decided that in order to determine the problem he needed to put a hole in the ceiling. Well that actually did help the problem because now the water was coming out in a stream instead of gushing everywhere. So here is what I have decided, I am going to rip out all of the ceilings in my house and claim that it is the new style. (I am sure that the water would still find me!!)

Well it is official Coleman is sick. I took him to the Doctors on Saturday, I figured that three days of fevers was enough, and the endless screaming was wearing on my nerves. I suspected an ear infection but his ears were fine. The doctor said that his throat was irritated and she sent a viral DFA to the lab to check for an infection, which it turns out that he has. I was so glad to hear that I wasn't crazy. You see I have the happiest baby in the world, but he did not sleep for 3 days and if I put him down all he did was scream. So since he has a virus there is no medication for it but they did prescribe a super sonic snot sucker which has been wonderful. Here are some pictures from Christmas.



Coleman had a lot of fun opening his Christmas gifts. But his favorite part was ... eating the paper!

If you can't say anything nice....

Okay so I am going to vent for a minute. I am so tired of rude people. So my sister called me today and was telling me about one of her hair clients. Apparently they were talking about baby names, when her client said that her boss's son had named his son Coleman after the camping gear. Long story short she was talking about us, and continued to say that she couldn't believe that we had named him that. I wouldn't have even thought twice about this except a couple months ago we were at my in-laws office when another lady approached us and asked what our sons name was, after telling her that his name was Coleman she proceeded to tell us that she could not believe that anyone would name their kid Coleman. I mean hello did she not remember that we were standing right there? I can not beleive that people are so rude. I would never say anything like that. What happened to the old saying if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!!! Okay I must say that I am feeling much better now that I have gotten that off my chest. So moral of the story if you have a problem with my kids name keep it to yourself! Anyway here are some recent pictures of my cute little guy.

SANTA I'VE BEEN GOOD I PROMISE!

We have had a very busy month, as I am sure most people have. Here are some of the fun things that we have been doing:

Santa came to our house on Sunday, and Coleman LOVED him. I thought that he might cry, but he had nothing but smiles for him. (Maybe it was because he knew that it was his grandpa dressed up, I'm not sure!) I am so glad that his first experience with Santa was a good one.

Coleman thought that Santa's beard was for eating. We had to keep pulling it out of his mouth. Poor Santa was a drooly mess by the time he left. At least Coleman didn't pull his beard off, we will save that for next year!!

We took a fun ride on the Polar Express!! Thanks to Grandpa Hansen. We got to eat cookies and drink hot chocolate all while listening to the story of the Polar Express. Then Santa borded and gave each child a jingle bell. Coleman enjoyed the ride for the most part. We were also able to stay over night in a condo in Midway, Utah. It was really nice to get away from everything for a couple of days and just enjoy being together.

Okay so the other day I was laying in bed trying to get some sleep when I heard a banging noise coming from Coleman's room. Figuring that he was awake and kicking the crib I decided to go and get him. Well much to my surprise when I got in the room I saw that my mischievous little guy had gotten a hold of the baby monitor and was banging it on the crib. I know, I know what kind of mom puts such a dangerous object in the crib with her baby. In my defense it was on the opposite side of the crib from where we put Coleman, and he has never scooted that far before. (He is afraid of the dark, and we had been using this as a night light so that he could sleep.)Needless to say the baby monitor has a new home across the room on the dresser, and I will be watching my trouble maker a lot closer!!

Coleman is now 5 months old, and growing so fast. He is such a funny guy. He always has a smile on his face, except when he is hungry, we can't feed this kid enough. Who would ever guess that he was 6 weeks early. Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving. We had a great time hanging out with family. Coleman and his cousin Nixon even decided try wrestling.

Here are our halloween pictures. We had a great time trick-or-treating at all of the grandparents houses. It was great because this was the first Halloween that "T" and I have spent together. (Normally one, if not both of us has to work).

He wore this costume to work because he thought that it would be funny since the road that he has to drive everyday to get to work has been under construction for months now. Unfortunately he did not win the contest.
